Update from Lanaya on Press Release, website & Marketing
Discussion - White Paper Updates
JT: The white paper has been revamped, is in the Google Drive, and is being filled out by Peter and numerous add’l contributors.
PA: Solid feedback received on white paper from Sean and Jeff and Cory; contributions added by Ken. The group is still waiting for the Cloverleaf section on the core model, but most of the rest of it is done. Peter needs to review comments in detail; they will be reviewed more closely in the white paper working group on Monday. Finished paper is still on track for a February ETA.
JT: Sections 3.1 and 3.2 still need to be kicked off. Rob will be able to work on the content after he returns to the office on Monday 2/3.
CI: Problem statement needs to be strengthened from a technical standpoint and a cost standpoint. Content strong but could be considerably stronger when points are hit harder about pain of existing process (expensive, cumbersome, etc.). Also visuals need to be added to the paper. Cory happy to help Peter with the addition of visual elements. Document should strongly stress the fact that prior efforts failed because of their extreme inflexibility. Pain points. Stress extensibility as well - central to everything. (See action items below).
SB: Has contributed the initial draft of his contributions to the paper. Has taken a standards development perspective and laid out the idea that lightweight, efficient, community-driven standards are the goal. Eventually, as we evolve, it may be pertinent to bring in JDF, etc. But for now local efficient collaboration with our immediate team is key. Sean wrote initial draft and is working on section wrt what will be done and how it is done.
MS: Extensibility is also key in the white paper - Rob will get into this in his contributions. The extensibility is everything - this is what will make the model work. Cory agreed: it will never work if it isn’t extensible, because it’s otherwise impossible to create a standard that will suit everyone.
KS: Raised question of whether the rating as a service use case (in the white paper) is too much of a reach for the paper.
AM: Meeting with Chetan tomorrow to review the work he’s done so far and get weigh in and critical feedback. Will make sure the fields they do need to extend are being extended appropriately.
KS: Wants to learn from what Andy is finding out - will review extensibility element in light of his experience and knowledge and get a clearer sense of how it will work - also to prove out extensibility in its second Proof of Concept, as this wasn’t done in the first POC.
Discussion - LF Providing Specific Examples of Other Standards and How they Are Managed
LN: Will get these out to the group following this call (see action items below).
SB: Reached out to Jory Burson at JDF - conclusion: this is why we are using community standards; he put the corresponding link into his section of the white paper. He will also be drawing on expertise from AnonCreds, a group within LF Decentralized Trust. This group has both a code and standards it is working on and he has reached out to them to get their assist and input and guidance - lessons learned, etc., as the group gets into the standards development process.
Updates are forthcoming from Sean in white paper working group on Monday.
Discussion - Cloverleaf - re: Status of IP and what percentage does core model cover for the homeowner stat plan fields required & what extensions may be necessary? -Item 5 from 1/16/25 meeting minutes
MS: Discussion with Ken occurred a week ago; high level discussion about this is forthcoming with the Linux Foundation in the next couple of weeks.
JT: This dovetails with AAIS’s POC work on the extensions and establishing what that entails. She wants to understand core model and how this relates to the addition of AAIS homeowners stat plan fields. Michael noted that these fields should be quick and straightforward to add - 30 seconds each.
ML: If AAIS has a way to put into a listing or a spreadsheet all of the fields that is currently want for each process, it would be possible to do a diff analysis between what’s in core, what is potentially in homeowners and whatever the gap is between the two. This is would what would need to be created using Pro Studio. Once this is done 1x, the model now has this going forward.
JT: Homeowners stat plan was part of the initial POC as a starting point (though mapping has not yet been done). Great starting point for understanding/exploring extensibility.
AM: For POC 2, they need to know all the fields, so that they know how to map them, etc. Ken, however, stressed that 1-2 fields are sufficient as a starting point once the mechanisms/process of extensibility are clearly defined.
Discussion: Update from Lanaya on Press Release, website & Marketing
LN: openIDS webpage is launched. Lanaya will pull visitor stats and LinkedIn (metrics) shortly and share them with the group. She wants the page to be interactive with white paper content and update.
JH: Additional clean up on openIDL website will be a challenge and may be premature prior to a full rebrand. For now we should send everyone directly to the openIDS page of the openIDL website.
Josh and Lanaya met with Werner Kruck to go over outreach/GTM plan. CRM spreadsheet has been updated by Lanaya - first round of contacts, MGAs and mutuals. She will keep the spreadsheet live and shared so that anyone can see it and contribute with contacts, input etc., to make this a group collaborative effort.
JH: Stressed the criticality of presenting our plans/roadmap/value prop at conferences and events - everyone should be on the lookout and this should be an automatic and a no-brainer.
LN: Will reach out to ITC (InsureTech Connect) to inquire about reps from the project speaking there (Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas - ~ 10,000 attendees). AAIS, Cloverleaf and reThought are co-sponsors of event. Ken will take the lead on this (see Action Items, below). Oct. 14-16.
KS: Stressed the criticality of discussing this effort with all of the characters the contributors regularly talk to. Ken and Jenny - speak internally about working this into AAIS marketing plan. Will reach out to Wen at AAIS.
AM: Requested status update about permissions on Pyramid side. Rob Clark will follow up with Chetan on access issues. May be related to demo box - will ensure that everyone has full access. (See action items below).
Action Items
Rob Clark - Work on sections 3.1 and 3.2 of the white paper when you return. In your contributions, per Michael’s request, please stress extensibility.
Peter Antley - Per Cory’s suggestion, revamp problem statement in white paper and make it tougher, more forceful - hit the statements harder about the onerous technology and financial burdens of the current model/approach. Document should strongly stress the fact that prior efforts failed because of their extreme inflexibility. Pain points. Stress extensibility as well - central to everything; this can be highlighted even more strongly than it already is, per Cory.
Peter and Cory - Connect off meeting about working together on visuals in white paper when you feel the time is apt.
Sean: Continue revising your section of the white paper about standards development in addition to the POV document about what the group is going to do and how it will be done.
Andy Mielke - Meet with Chetan to review extensibility and share resultant insights with Ken Sayers.
Sean Bohan - Collect feedback from Stephen at AnonCreds about standards development and report back to the white paper working group.
Lanaya Nelson: Share stats from the website with the group.
Lanaya Nelson: Per Ken’s request put very prominent link to OIDS page on top (homepage) of openIDL website.
Lanaya Nelson: Begin populating CRM spreadsheet and kickstart outreach to first array of contacts.
Ken Sayers: reach out to ITC (InsureTech Connect) on behalf of AAIS to inquire about reps from the project speaking there
Rob Clark: follow up with Chetan on Pyramid access issues.
Lanaya Nelson: Put together a list of events for the project to participate in.
Jen Tornquist: Connect with Wen to gauge when and how to incorporate this effort into AAIS’s marketing strategy.
